What is SparkTalk?

SparkTalk is a conversation-based tool designed to help colleagues connect, build trust, and engage in meaningful discussions. Through guided chats with thought-provoking questions, SparkTalk promotes collaboration, understanding, and a positive company culture.

How does SparkTalk work?

Participants are paired up and guided through a series of conversations. Each SparkTalk session consists of a set of questions that help initiate open, reflective, and engaging discussions. After each session, participants receive a simple task to encourage further connection and reflection.

What browsers are supported?

SparkTalk is not an app - that means you do not have to download anything - you run everything in your browser!

How are the SparkTalk pairs decided?

Pairs are selected to encourage diverse connections, helping colleagues who might not usually interact get to know each other better. Our system can also accommodate preferences or specific setups as needed.

What topics are covered in SparkTalk?

SparkTalk covers a variety of topics, ranging from personal reflections and communication styles to work-related experiences and goals. Each conversation is designed to be insightful yet comfortable, and not overly intrusive.

How long does a SparkTalk session last?

Each SparkTalk session typically lasts about 20-30 minutes, depending on how much time participants want to spend discussing the questions. The sessions are brief yet impactful, fitting easily into a busy workday.

How many SparkTalk sessions are there in a series?

A standard SparkTalk series consists of 3-4 sessions. Participants may switch partners in the middle of a series to foster a wider network of connections.

What if I can’t find a suitable time to meet my SparkTalk partner?

We encourage participants to coordinate directly to find a mutually convenient time. However, if you're having trouble, feel free to reach out to the Culture Team for assistance. If a session can’t be completed, it will be logged, and you can join a future pairing.

What is the Post-SparkTalk task?

After a SparkTalk session, you will sometimes receive a simple task designed to help you build on what you discussed. These tasks might include offering a compliment to a colleague, reflecting on a piece of feedback, or starting a conversation about a new idea. The goal is to extend the value of your conversation into everyday interactions.

Do I need to prepare anything before a SparkTalk?

There’s no extensive preparation required. We recommend reviewing the questions briefly before the session so you have a sense of what to expect. Simply come prepared to engage and listen.

What is the purpose of SparkTalk?

The main purpose of SparkTalk is to foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and open communication within the workplace. By facilitating structured yet relaxed conversations, we aim to help colleagues connect on a deeper level, encouraging empathy, teamwork, and shared success.

Can I provide feedback on my SparkTalk experience?

Absolutely! We value your insights and experiences. After each series, you’ll have the opportunity to share feedback, which helps us improve and refine SparkTalk for future participants.

Is SparkTalk available for remote teams?

Yes, SparkTalk is especially designed to work seamlessly between participants all over the world. All sessions are hosted online, making it easy for colleagues to connect regardless of location.
